We created Fireloft in 2014 with one goal in mind: to build the world's best governance, risk and compliance software.

We're a small company, but we're growing quickly. We are a team of experts. Our founders, Mirek Pijanowski and Paul Guenette, each have close to 20 years of industry experience. We're building our software entirely in-house, in downtown Vancouver, Canada.

We launched StandardFusion, our flagship GRC software platform, in early 2016. Since then, we've been improving and expanding StandardFusion, and helping our customers achieve and maintain compliance with a growing collection of standards. We have a very aggressive roadmap, and everything we do is driven by our customers.

Fireloft does not aim to be cheap. We aim to be the best at what we do. We believe our approach remains cost effective and ultimately provides the best value - and the best experience - for all of our customers.

Mirek is a self-taught information technology professional with a successful track record spanning over 15 years working with organizations that range from smaller startups, to large automotive manufacturing and logistics, all the way to financial services. During this time he also received his certificate in Project Management from UBC Sauder School of Business with a specialization in Business Analysis, and his Certified Information Security Manager certification from ISACA.

As an Information Security Manager for a corporate treasury application service provider, Mirek designed, developed and implemented an ISO 27001 based information security management system which was subsequently certified by BSI. This experience has led him to where he is now, working on StandardFusion, Fireloft’s integrated management system.

Paul is a self-taught software architect and entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience in designing, building, and supporting software solutions for businesses ranging from sole proprietorships to large multinationals. Paul has worked with clients in a diverse range of industries, including marketing and public relations, oil and gas, and financial services.

In 1999, Paul founded Sigil IT, a software and consulting firm based in Calgary, Alberta. In 2003, Paul assumed his duties as President and became responsible for the overall business direction of the company. In 2011, Paul moved to Vancouver and began working for a corporate treasury application service provider, working directly with financial institutions and corporations worldwide to integrate treasury, ERP, and payment systems.

Paul’s experience with both small-business and large enterprise, as well as his background in both software development and business development, have served invaluable to the founding and ongoing operations of Fireloft.
